Hey man, I feel you on wanting to expand your social circle. Here are some ideas for meeting new people:
- Check if your local rec center or gym offers any group classes you could join - things like yoga, kickboxing, whatever interests you. A fun way to meet active folks.
- Look on Meetup for groups in your area doing activities you enjoy, like outdoors stuff, board games, whatever. People join those specifically to meet others.
- Check if your office does any after hours social things like sports leagues, happy hours, game nights you could join.
- Talk to acquaintances you kinda know from school/previous jobs, see if they're doing anything social you can tag along to.
- Volunteer for something you care about - animal shelters, charities, political causes. Great way to connect with like-minded people.
- Consider taking a class at your local community college, even just for one course. Instant built-in social circle.
- Go to local events like art fairs, concerts, festivals by yourself and spark up convos with people there.
Don't stress if it takes time. Try a few options and see what sticks. As long as you're putting yourself out there, you'll find your people man. It gets easier the more you practice chatting people up too.
Best is to look in places you mostly frequent anyway. School/college/work or hobbies.
Apps go hot too, try out bumble bff or meet up or any local variant that you might have.
Try at work
I got friends at work but I’m talking about after work, all the people I work with are decades older then me and are not into the things I’m into.
Try joining a local group on Facebook
