How do you raise children to become amazing and not rebellious and crazy?

I'm not a parent and my parents didn't do the best job, but I'm genuinely preparing for the future. Any different advice for guys/girls?

I let my kids fail. Taught them life isn't fair. If they wanted something, they paid for it. Never bought any of my kids a phone. They all got jobs when they entered highschool to get their own phones and pay for their plans. They paid for their own education and bought their own cars as soon as they could afford it. I've got 4 kids under 30 that are debt free, homeowners and making 6 figures. Don't coddle them and teach them how to deal with disappointment instead of avoiding disappointment. My kids were too busy working in highschool to be rebellious. They all thank me when they look at their friends still living at home

It is a lot of things. The parents need to set a good example. They need to be involved in their kids lives and they need to be fair and honest. There is a big element of chance involved as well.

I knew a few parents that were very responsible parents. Some coached soccer with me and they all were involved in school and sports. For whatever reason a few of these kids fell off the track, One kid dropped out of high school, others got involved with drugs. I really cannot see how their parents messed up..

Don't be strict with them, don't limit their freedom too much, don't punish them for not getting good grades in school and don't control their every single step.

Also let them experience having responsibilities for their own actions and don't overshield them from all but the most serious consequences.

Speaking as someone, that doesn't talk to his parents at all.
