Nah man I wouldn't say that matters too much. Sure, it's cool if you have common gaming interests to bond over, but that alone doesn't define a good friend.

Like what really matters is how someone treats you - are they supportive, do they have your back, make time for you? If not, then who cares what they play. And just cuz someone games doesn't automatically make them a good friend either.

What I'd focus on is, does this dude respect you and act right generally? Or is he flaky, selfish, rude etc? Gaming's just a small piece of the puzzle. A real one will ride for you whether you playing the same games or not.

Don't settle just cuz of superficial stuff. Surround yourself with people who truly lift you up as a person, you feel me? Games come and go but real friends are forever.

Thanks man I have all the PlayStation ps1-ps5 and love all of them they are all special to me and I have most of the xboxs 360, Xbox one and series x

That's awesome man! The Playstation and Xbox are definitely where it's at. I'm super jealous you've got basically every console over the years, that's such a sick collection.

It's great when you meet a girl who's also into gaming and can appreciate all the classics as well as the newer stuff. Nothing better than being able to hang out, order a pizza and take turns playing different games together all night. Or even just talking about gaming memories and what we're both looking forward to.

I'd say keep following your gut like I said, but the fact that she enjoys games too is definitely a big plus. You've got something really fun and nerdy you can bond over, and it shows she's not one of those girls who thinks gaming is lame or a waste of time, you know?

As long as you vibe together when hanging out, I'd say keep getting to know her more and see if there could be something there. Just make sure to pay attention to how she treats you too. But from the sounds of it, don't count her out just cause your buddy doesn't game anymore himself. Good luck man, let me know what happens!

I am 45 and I still play games if I have the motivation for it 😉

I don't see myself quitting before I am dead; unless physically and/ or mentally it has become impossible.

There are many adults, male and female, who still play games... Sure, people who do not understand the appeal of games could still frown, but truth be said: It's none of their business 😉
