Do strangers on the internet understand you more than your family?

In the past I felt that way but now it's about equal I'd say. My dad and my sister don't get me at all but I don't care about what they think. My mom gets me enough so that's fine with me. But there are people who understand me well online so it's a difficult question. I used to care a lot about being understood because I'm disabled and I felt alone and like nobody knew what I was dealing with but now I care more about just getting judged based on my actions and just making the best of life and not thinking about my disability. I love my mom and I'm grateful even though we don't agree on some things or she's becoming sometimes more difficult to deal with as she gets older. It doesn't matter if we're the most compatible as adults she was there for me and loved me when I needed her and I'll always appreciate that.

Honestly yes. As much as my family loves me and I love them, they really don't understand me and I don't understand them. Very different perspectives. I'd say that there are more people on the internet that relate to the issues I have in life than them and are probably kindred souls.

But the main person that gets me is my best friend.

Some strangers do. Cause sometimes my family don't listen. They want me to listen to them.

But when I talk, they don't care much, and the they forget what I sayd.

Please do not forget they are just two people who love you that's two opinions or who understand you. We are maybe in the hundreds of thousands of different opinions either for or against your questions or opinions. Do not judge them harshly for their possible lack of understanding v/s the net

I know my family loves me very much. But lately they don't pay much attention to what I say, but they want me to listen to everything they say or if they want to vent about how their day went. 😅

Not really... exceptions r always there though so can't rule out the possibility but it will be extremely rare

Possibly they do. There is a lot of life experience collectively in people on GAG and families see you in terms of their own life experience and with you. There can be a desire to see you in a particular way as well.

So yes a GAG stranger could have a better understanding of you than family especially in specific aspects of your life.

It depends on which family member we're comparing strangers to.

Some of my family members stopped paying attention when I was five. Others know EXACTLY who I am.

They are outside the bubble so they can see things that don't occur to you. They might not understand the personalities, but the behavior appears obvious.
