Is it rude to talk about an upcoming event in front of a friend and say you’re inviting multiple people, but not them?

friend is talking about going to an event to me, and says inviting people (lists multiple names)… does not mention my name or anything along the lines of if I want to come at all.

I think highly rude and more like rubbing salt into the wound. You can be quite sure she is no friend of yours. If I were you I'd maintain your decorum till after the event then ghost. Getting a belated reluctant inclusion to the invitees list would just be more insulting.

Cut off and ghost afterwards.

I agree. I have been slowly distancing myself from this person for other reasons… but this is kind of just another one added to the list at this point.

I feel like based on the situation they aren't including you if they didn't wanna include you they shouldn't mention anything about the event to you in the first place so I kind of feel it's rude because they are talking about said event in front of you but not inviting you which is messed up

I think so. They don't have to invite you if they don't want to but why shove it in your face? That's just awkward. It could just be that they're a little slow as well, I don't know

I agree! It’s not an obligation to invite me. But why mention it to me in the first place and say you’re inviting xyz, with no invite to me then? It was very weird… I just said okay have fun and left it like that lol.

maybe she assumed you knew you are invited automatically because friends? ask her about it

but in general, yes that's seen as rude
