Why does society shame working moms so much?

society always have this mindset where children always need the perfect childhood. Reality is... moms are exhausted after working 8 to 12 hr shifts then having to come home to continue cooking, cleaning, bathing, teaching the kids. how much energy would she have left at the remainder of the day to dedicate to her kids? Kids don't need the perfect childhood. Most of us didn't have a perfect childhood. All they need is a mom that tries her best, even if it isn't perfect.

Many of you will say, why can't the mom just give up her job and stay home? sure she can, but that will just be a definite way for the kids to never have the chance to attend college because their parents couldn't afford to pay for it. Do you want to raise a couple of kids who will grow up struggling to pay the bills since they never had a chance at an education?

Stop shaming working moms. they're trying their best. Stop having unrealistic expectations of what moms should be capable of doing. Moms are human beings that need rest, not machines that can run forever. Moms can't provide their kids with everything. She can only try her best.

my mom worked, my grandmas worked... I still work... no one ever shamed anyone... it's natural in Europe for everyone to make decisions for themselves or their families... it's natural that fathers are part of caring for and raising their kids...

I know families where both parents work because they want to, not because of financial needs, where one parent works (any parent, women make great careers here, so it's sometimes better if the father stays home if he wants it)...

sometimes, both working parents are a must to feed the family, so there is not always much choice

but I've never been shamed for working...

No hate on working moms here. I more just hate here in the US that moms do not get proper time off from work after a baby. Like we can force moms to drop off their kid at a daycare at 6 weeks old but it's animal abuse to separate a puppy that old from its mother. We're literally treating animals better than out own species just because of greed and hustle culture. It's sickening

no mom wants to drop their kid off at daycare. but you need to work to pay the bills, pay the mortgage, send your kids to good schools, pay for college, save for retirement, pay for health care, provide them with what they need as they grow up

not everyone has a free house, free food, free healthcare, free college tuition like you. things are earned in life, not handed out.

you know what is sickening? kicking your kids out at 18 because you're unable to support them and having them fend for themselves all on their own without an education or skills (because you're unable to send them to college)

I donate my breastmilk to nicu babies and they pay good money for it because it's life saving for those babies. I do it so little mirco premature babies aren't dying

It would also go to waste. I have no desire to keep 1000s of ounces of milk or to own that many frezzers to store it away

reality is... its people like you who never have to work for a house, health insurance, car that get to stay home, bake cookies and cook your favorite meals, play with the babies.

you think working moms wouldn't love to just stay home and bake macaroni and cheese while playing with their kids?

Staying home with my kids is still work. That's like saying a daycare worker or teacher must love playing and reading books all day with kids all day 😂 like no they are working. I'm financially worth more than my husband's job. Had to increase my life insurance and fix my will because of this recently because my husband would be fucked if I died yet I'd be fine If he died 😆

Having a kid is a choice. Some people think you shouldn't have kids if you are going to have strangers raise them.

Strangers aren't raising them. They come back home to see their parents everyday, everynight, every weekend till they are grown. Kids really dont need to be around their parents 24/7.
