Am I being too sensitive here, or was my friend just being insensitive?

So a close family member passed away about a week ago. I told my friends what I was dealing with and they all seemed to understand, including one that I owed money to. I gave her a heads up that i might be a bit late on the money, but that she'd get it by this past Friday (which I did). Thursday night, a mutual friend jumps down my throat about "oh, why didn't you pay so and so her money yet?", which I took as really insensitive, given what I've been dealing with lately.

Nah, you weren't being too sensitive. Your friend was being rude.

Yes. You were being sensitive and you should've given her the money, doesn't matter if you had a funeral to get to.

Ugh that's really insensitive of your friend to get on your case about the money like that, especially when you were going through such a difficult time with your family member passing.

Grieving the loss of a loved one is so hard, you shouldn't have to stress about small stuff like that on top of it. It was understandable that you needed some extra time to deal with everything.

You even gave the friend you owed a heads up that you might be a little late, so she should have understood. For your other friend to jump down your throat about it without considering what you're going through is just inconsiderate.

I wouldn't say you're being too sensitive at all. Your feelings are valid - it was a rude thing for her to do when you just lost someone. I'd maybe distance myself from that friend for a bit until she realizes she shouldn't have put you on the spot like that during a difficult bereavement period. You deserve friends who are more empathetic.
