Did you have an "almost" name? If so, what was your almost name?

You'll love this. Yesterday, a couple of Mormons stopped me on the street and started talking to me. Since I can't stand Mormons' historic racism (because they lied and said we blacks were the cursed children of Cain, they denied us black men their priesthood until June 9,1978, the day after my father's 65th birthday and the day Larry Holmes' split 15-round decision over the late Ken Norton gave Holmes the World Boxing Council Heavyweight Title, and more than a few Mormons are racists even now), when they said they wanted my phone number and name wanted to call me and visit me, I gave them a fake phone number and equally phony first name... TROY !!!
I am a twin. I was named after my mothers father and my brother was named fter my father's father so that was the plan. However I wanted to name my son "Jason". My wife thought I was naming him after my favorite baseball player. It was a done deal I thought until my mother told my wife that Jason was the name of my dog.
My wife said that we could not name any of our kids after former pets.
No I think my parents were pretty set on my name. They didn't find out my sex before I was born so they had Paige for a girl and Jordan for a boy. They were going to use Jordan for the next one whether boy or girl but then my mum's friend had a baby and named him Jordan 😂 so they found a different gender neutral name when my sister was born.
I was almost named Alexis, my mom thought calling me Lexi would be a cute nickname but my dad nixed it immediately. He was afraid I would be called “Sexy Lexi” and didn’t want a daughter like that lol

My mom wanted to name me Adam or Adham ( Arabic name ) but my father, who was in his 50s when he had me, decided to name me after his deceased brother and now I'm stuck with a stupid old name.. it's even worse when my absolute favorite name is actually Adam 😭😭..
There were three. Most guys in my father's family were John or Jack. My dad was the third John in his line, so John and Jack were likely. My parents eventually chose to name me after my great uncle Bud Tyler. They ended up choosing Tyler over Bud.
Joyce.
They went with something else, though. I prefer what they ended up naming me.
Yes, it is. lol 💜
I was almost named Amanda Meghan. So glad that is not my name lol.
Nothing against you Amandas or Meghans out there, those names just totally don't "fit" me
No I don't. My sister Caylee does though. I can't remember what her name was going to be, but my parents heard the story of Caylee Anthony and named her after her instead of the name they had.
Got almost named Kristine, but my mom saw a book and got my name on it. 😁
My parents: Mom wanted Jade; Dad wanted Jacklynn. In the end my sisters got to name me since neither one could have theirs.
I have no idea what they were thinking.
Yes. I was nearly named Joseph after my maternal grandfather, but they decided to name me (sort of) after my paternal grandfather William instead and use the other as my middle name.
AFIK, my parents never thought of another name for me.
Michelle if I was a girl. I wouldve been cool with that. I've had some WTF names it my class tho!! I mean REALLY fucked up!!
Yeah I know me my parents had 1 or 2 other names that were in the running, can’t remember what they were
Dad said that if I was born a girl, he was gonna name me, Dalita.
I was told that if I had been a girl, my parents would have named me Jenna.
