Am I a fake friend?

Basically me and my roomate are both single right now!
My roomate dates around and sleeps around a lot and I do not judge anyways she went on one date with this guy and wasn’t really sure if she liked him or not and is now already talking to someone completely new and kinda only went out with him to make another guy mad.
Anyways I saw him on hinge the other day and me and him have a lot in common and he is my type to a tea so I hearted his pic and then he hearted mine
My roomate was taking pictures of me then I got a notification that he marched me back so she got furious and called me fake and all this stuff
I felt really bad and said I was sorry and that I was 100% in the wrong and that I just did it to see if he was active because I could tell she was upset in the moment and didn’t feel comfortable telling her everything just yet so I waited a day then told her it’s because I’ve always thought he was cute but didn't know how to tell her and I didn’t think it would be a big deal because they went on one date and barely talked and that she is already talking to someone else and she said no it is your my roommate and you didn’t think about how that would make me feel. I unmatched him right away and never texted him and now I feel awful and I don’t really know what to do! She says she feels like she can never trust me again. What do I do?

Omg girl, don't be so hard on yourself! Your roommate is totally overreacting. A few thoughts:

- You aren't dating the same guy, you just thought he was cute too. No biggie!

- She barely knew him and went on ONE date. Not like they were official or anything serious.

- We're all allowed to find the same people attractive. Doesn't make you "fake" for pursuing someone you vibe with.

- Deleting him right away showed you cared about her feelings, even if you didn't fully get why she was so mad at first.

- Trust takes time to rebuild, but try to talk it through calm when tensions chill. Explain your side, listen to understand her perspective too without judgment.

- Suggest you agree not to date people the other genuinely likes as more than a hookup. But also don't limit each other's full dating potential over one date dudes.

Give it some space, then have an honest chat. Reassure her you value her friendship over any guy. You got this girl - don't let one little miscommunication wreck your roommate bond!
