I don't think it's right, what if the other person has feelings for me and becomes a friend for that reason?
503 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Men who are gay, asexual, or men who are already in a happy, healthy relationship CAN be "just friends" with women, yes - but they usually aren't.
Men who are straight and single and have typical sex drives largely CANNOT be "just friends" with women who they find even a bit attractive. And men generally don't choose to become friends with women they don't find attractive. This is not a failing of women - most women CAN be "just friends" - it's MEN who are largely incapable.
The problem is that most women who THINK they have "male friends" simply don't realize that their "friend" wants to fuck them, or in some cases date them - but nearly all of them do. Just because the girl is oblivious doesn't mean it's not true - but let's be honest, most women know it's true.
Don't believe me? Here's a simple test - one that's been done live on camera dozens of times and has a 100% result rate: call your male "friend," tell him that you're really lonely and really horny, and ask him if he wants to come over and take care of your needs. If he was "just a friend", he would refuse - but you know goddamn well your "friend" is going to jump in his car and break the speed limit getting to your house. Are there RARE exceptions? Sure - but they're REALLY rare.
The other way to test for this is to have a serious conversation with the guy, and assure him that you want to make it clear that you will NEVER, EVER have sex with him. He's your "friend" because he's holding out hope that ONE DAY the two of you can get together. Many guys will keep holding out hope even if you get into a relationship with another guy - and some will stick around for YEARS hoping. But once you extinguish all hope, 99.99999% of the time, that "friend" is going to fade out of your life, because what was keeping him around was the HOPE that one day you'd get together.
It doesn't make me happy or proud to tell you this, but it's still the TRUTH, and you should know the truth and you should be making decisions with this truth in mind. It would be either naïve or delusional not to.

The that means bisexuals cannot have friends.

@Aiko_E_Lara They can if they're already in a happy, healthy relationship. But if they're single and male? Not really, no.
- 1 y
That can still be applied for female bisexuals. Because they are "bisexuals" for a reason. It doesn't matter if they are male or female because they both like male and female. Also you still have to explain why there are many relationships that don't work out and why many people and even men have different kinds of types. You just assumed every women is men's types.

1 yIt depends on the man as well as the woman, yes sometimes feelings develop it’s pretty normal but I will say that relationships that flourish from friendships are much stronger especially because you’ve built a connection on something more then sex as well as know each other for who you genuinely are, not just a perfect picture that you made in your head.
It does suck when one person has developed feelings while the other person hasn’t it hurts. But you eventually move on and find someone whose right for you. I will never understand why people want quantity over quality people. Some people just feed their egos by getting as much attention from the opposite sex as possible rather then focusing on quality of person.

1 yYes. There is a chance of fake friends who just want something from u, but there's always chance of that even with friends with other women. So that's not a reason that you can't ever be friends with a man.
It is reason to maybe be more careful when making friends with men, but hopefully once you are friends you have made boundaries clear & the guys who don't actually want to be friends will lose interest and fuck off.

1 yThey can if the man isn't sexually interested or attracted. But most people pick friends who they find attractive or at least I do 97% of the time. Though I have never dated or anything with a friend, since I assume they aren't interested lol

Anonymous(36-45)1 yIt depends entirely on the circumstance. For example I have two female friends whom I have known since kindergarten. They're married, with kids. Good people.
I'm also friends with one ex, and it's because we were friends for years before we dated, and we dated for like two weeks, and we called it quits because we worked better as friends.
But you're right. A lot of the time a man will have feelings for a woman, and she will friend zone him.
My wife lost most of her male friends because I challenged her to offer her "male friends" sex, and those that didn't turn her down she was to block them. Because if a male friend you offer sex doesn't turn you down, he is not your real friend.10 Reply
1 yYes I believe men and women can be friend. My husband didn’t so. My husband thinks my guy friends are waiting for an opportunity to bang me.
41 ReplyYour husband is right, listen to him.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yOf course.
What happens? Then the friendship ends.
So don't cross that line aneverything will most likely be fine.
This is a common misconception with women. You think guys approach any and everything in a skirt (some do. Don't get me wrong. But it's certainly NOT the norm). Guys approach women that send him a signal that she's interested in ELEVATING the friendship. The REALITY is we have an epidemic of women today that see men as their playthings. And not enough men that will tell the to f*** off when they act this way.

I never understood why most people think that a man and a woman can't be friends.

@Aiko_E_Lara logic and you aren't even in the same galaxy, bud. When did mention money? You're always going on about that on here. You're issue. Not mine.
- 1 y
It's simple. You're assuming men wants the shot. So I assume women wants the money. So why is it an issue if I make assumptions but you're not? Are you trying to be a hypocrite?
I think so but there’s always gonna be attraction from one side. All of my male friends wanted more
