If a brother and his wife constantly makes a mess making everyone's life miserable and a drama what should be the output?

So i live in a joint family, my brother and his wife are very clever it's been just 2yrs of their marriage they have a daughter now (8months old) they r making my life and my mumma's life like hell... They want everything acc to their needs and she won't listen a word against her, she doesn't help in the kitchen or any other chores, my brother is in control of her, he mistreats my mother and want the share of property now..

We are 3 siblings - 1 big brother and 2 sisters... She wants everything i am divorced can't go anywhere else have to live like this only... all we want is peace he doesn't want to leave the house he doesn't work my father does everything for us... Now he starts threatening me that after their death who will take care of me -him... So i have to listen to him and her like i am their slave for the rest of my life

He even tries to manipulate my parents and me that he will kill himself to get his demands done every now and then even the neighbours can hear him screaming... He can control his anger with her but not from us... He manipulates us all the time with knife like a 30yr old child and we obey him but he doesn't even takes my parents to hospital or any other emergency...

They just want to dictate to us and live this luxurious life and not working just hanging out with each other and not respecting my parents especially my mom, me and my sister!!!

We are thinking that they r good for nothing it's better they should stay away from us like for rent for now and he will see how good she is doing everything by herself, she blames me and my mother all the time, but we don't do such drama sge just wants attention... I don't know what should we do please help!!!

Woah, that sounds like a super toxic situation to live in dude. I totally get why you and your mom are at your wit's end dealing with your brother and his wife. A few things I would consider:

- Your brother is emotionally abusing and manipulating all of you with his threats and violent outbursts. That is not okay.

- Him not working and expecting you all to support him while he bosses everyone around in the house is beyond unfair.

- His wife seems like a piece of work too if she's doing nothing to contribute but making problems. No wonder tensions are high.

- I say give them an ultimatum - either they start respecting the house rules like everyone contributing, or they need to find their own place ASAP. Lining his pockets while screaming at his family is BS.

- Make it clear his threats won't be tolerated anymore. Call the police if he gets violent again so he faces consequences for his actions.

- If they refuse to change, start the process of legally evicting them so you can have your home back in a peaceful way. Don't let them keep running all over you!

- You and your mom also need breaks - go visit siblings, friends, anything to get away from the madness when it gets overwhelming. Your mental health matters too.
