Does it take you a long time to forgive someone?

My close friend is still so mad at a girl who used to be her friend (not so close but have known each other for years) a story that happened two years ago and she refuse to talk to her..

So the story in your point of view:

A friend of yours heard some person trash talking about you, behind your back and instead of defending you, this person decided to agree with the trash talkers, why? She said "sorry but they were stating fact, I should be honest with you"

The trashtalk: she always behaves as if she is better than the others but in reality she is just so insecure, overdramatic and too delusional

The hard part is praying for them. Kind of biting my lip and doing so. But I guess true forgiveness would be praying easily.

There have been a couple rats that took all I had. I even questioned Him about how do I forgive.

I've also read where you foregive when the swine asks for it. I don't know.

There is this ez-nephew that I've forgiven many times over the past 2.5 years. I'll find myself cussing him and - we'll, it's been a while since I've done that. I do ask for compensation and justice about a few people.

it doesn't take me that long to understand... now reconciliation after forgiveness might take a bit more of time, depending on what it is... especially if the trust is no longer there and to me, those are two separate things, lol

Depends heavily on what they did and why they did it.

The intention is of utmost importance. Some people can hurt your feelings trying to protect you.

There are also people who have bad intentions and want to see you suffer.

I can forgive a person who had good intentions. But as far as the others, I'll forgive but I won't forget. And I'll keep my distance.

No, forgiveness is not for the other person. It is for my mental health. It is so that every time I am reminded of that person it doesn’t weigh on me. They don’t live rent free in my head. Forgiveness is a choice and I do it pretty quick for my benefit.

If they're toxic or really wronged me, i just cut them out of my life. i try not to hold too much hate or any grudges, i simply move on. so i do i forgive? i suppose in a way, but i never forget. and once you're out, you're out.

Someone going out of their way to falsely hit my integrity will never recover with an apology to me. Someone who wrongs me but change their behavior, after a while, I can change my opinion about them.
