I said goodbye to my sweet Oreo, my tuxedo cat, on September 30th in the morning. He had had a bladder infection, got treated, and was sick again some days later. He had lost a considerable amount of weight within a few months, and he had been trying to urinate on things other than inside his litter box. This is because he associated the pain he was having with his litter box. His infections (he had 2 before which were treated with antibiotics) were a symptom of something much bigger that was unknown. Because he was 23 years, instead of having testing done on him, I decided it was best to put him to sleep. As much as I miss him I am happy with the decision to put him out of his pain. When he put his little head against the post of his scratch post and closed his eyes, as if he could not anymore, I decided this was it.
He was older than 2 assistants!! At his age he was 108 in human years.
