How old were you when you first left your parents and lived independently from them?

I was 16 and a half

My mom has been married to a guy and from 5 to 10 years old he used to beat me with a belt and when I was 10 I told him I wasn't going to cry no more but when I was 12 they got a divorce

I think when I was 15 she got remarried and when I was 16 I got a job being a dishwasher because I wanted a car and I was getting my learner's permit and my license and when I was 16 and a half he grabbed a hold of me one day and started threatening me and I pushed him back and I said whatever I said I'll f****** beat the f*** out of you and I pushed him up against the wall

Because I swore nobody would ever beat me up again or hit me with the belt or hurt me and as I did that to him

I saw his eyes get really big and I let go of him and I turned around and my mom was standing there and she kind of had tears in her eyes and I walked towards you and I said I'm sorry but I swear no man would ever put his hands on me again

Well a couple of my friends their mom was moving to California to open up a business they they were twins and they wanted to stay here and finish school so I moved into their house with them and I mean everything worked out good

But being 16 and a half and thinking I knew it all I realized probably the second or third night there I didn't know a thing and I had to start learning stuff fast

Never actually moved. My paternal grandfather died when I was 4 and he strategically left the house to me and gave my dad a life trust to it (had to do with generational skipping to maintain tax basis under California Law). I was 19 when my dad passed and the house became fully mine, so I still live in my childhood home.

I lived alone for 8 months when I was 18 years old cause my university was over 3 hours from my parents home so it would take too long to bus to school if I lived with family. When I was 19, my family was looking for a bigger house to move into, and decided to buy one close to my school so I would not have to pay rent to continue my studies. I've lived here ever since.

The only draw back I can think of is that my best friend cut off communication with me after I changed cities because we couldn't see each other every week like we used to, but now I have new friends, so its not a big deal.

I moved out around 25 for a yr. Moved back home… met my first hubby… then boyfriend. Moved in together after we got engaged around 28.

When I was 20, it was then I started working overseas on long term contracts which I kept doing until first my mother then my father fell ill with Cancer,

I had to. My dad died when I was 10 my mom was really toxic. I couldn't do it so I had to move and learn things on my own. But God got me through and and some help from some friends.
