Do people keep telling you that you have so much potential?

Do people keep telling you that you have so much potential?

This has happened all my life and when I was younger I believed it very much. When I was struggling in my twenties and later got diagnosed I realized that I have a problem with actually realizing the ideas/goals/projects. It's not that I don't believe in myself anymore but I know it will be a lot harder to do these things than I maybe thought when I was 16 or whatever. I can get exhausted just from everyday life sometimes so I have to be careful about the extra things I take on. I do think I'm doing a lot better just because I've learned more how to do things efficiently and I'm more used to a lot of tasks but it's still not an easy thing to take on more. Honestly at the moment I don't know what I can do to capitalize on the things people say I have. I just want to keep going in a positive direction and I hope in the future I will find a way to do what I can't do now.

I can understand that from the outside it might seem like I'm just wasting my potential but these people don't know how it is for me. There's a wall right there in front of me and I know what happens when I try to bypass it, it leads to bad things. I have to work with what I have and I'm ok with that but some people don't seem to understand it.

Have you dealt with situations like this too?
