That's unfortunately just a generic response. I used to get that all the time until I met someone who I dated for 2 years. We aren't together right now, just taking a break due to a very complicated situation My mother does not like her and always tells me that I will find someone some day. I hate hearing that and I have snapped back saying "It won't. Stop trying to make me feel better." They are just trying to give you hope is really all.
You've got it good! Whenever I've not been in a relationship in my life and someone has asked me if I'm seeing anyone, they'd always say "No wonder!"
I guess a lot of them assume that if somebody is by themselves it's because they can't find somebody and not because they choose to be by themselves.
