I love them both the same. I'm just closer with my mom.

Although my mother died when I was only 4, I would in any case have prefered my mother. My father was to me only a stranger always eager to punish for some silly imagined misbehaviour. The less I saw him, the better I felt. No offense meant: only the plain truth.

In my view, neither mother or father was a 'responsible' or what I would call a 'role model parent... My dad was a border line alcoholic, who put my and my brothers lives at stake with his drunken behavior and mother...'hated the sexuality of men" and shamed me in a disgraceful way for my own sex drive, as a very young guy.

So figure that one out?

Neither. But I'm a special case. Both my mother and my father were abusive in the extreme, both were druggies, both valued drugs more than being parents. So if either died tomorrow, I'd not care.

I guess, mom. Mostly because, up until about a decade before he died, dad was ALWAYS on my ass about SOME stupid little thing!!

He used to cheat on my mother, and when she confronted him about that, he hit her.

He also used to hit me and my brother when we were kids.
