yes, of course... I have one, lol

for the most part, a healthy/balanced one... and always keeping it on check

but I do see ego, as our self-esteem, the awareness and the confidence in our true-selves, and true, means... all of the wrong, and the bad, and with all the introspection needed to differentiate between the two and also how to come to terms with both, and everyone else as well

a sense of self-importance is also key, because if you don't prioritize and value yourself first, then others might have a problem with appreciating you or might have it too easy to take advantage of you too, so

    balance

Mine used to be very fragile so I would posture up and make it as big as possible to protect it

Other people assumed im an egotistical person and many walked on eggshells around me for it

As I grew up I understood the virtue in not having ego and being detached from the outcome of life’s decisions

It took time, but now people are far more comfortable being honest with me and my skin is thicker than ever meaning hurting me is not an easy thing to achieve

Still have a ways to go though

(And besides a little ego is not a bad thing, helps with loving yourself)

I definitely have one, lmao. Well aware of my flaws as well, so I like to think it all gets balanced out to “healthy confidence”, for the most part, haha.

I guess from a young age I’ve always had a little “main character energy”, or maybe more like “best supporting actor” energy, haha, because I have some introvert to me too. I like to draw attention, but on my terms. But I feel like I was always more self-aware than other little kids. Like we had a class play when I was in second grade, and they had me playing multiple roles, plus three other kids who I feel were the same, and all grew up to be smart people. The rest of the kids were background players or had like one line. And looking back at the VHS tape of it as an adult, the four of us were just higher-functioning relative to our peers.

I say that to say that I’ve gotten positive attention from a young age about my intelligence, both perceived and measured. I’d probably be a disappointment to all those people who knew me in elementary school, they probably thought I’d be a doctor or an astronaut or something, lmao.

And as I got into sports, that went well too, as did my social life. All that contributed to having a positive self-image, I’m sure. I was popular in college with the fellas and, more importantly to me, with the ladies, haha. That’s probably a time when my ego was a little out of control, in some ways. I probably neglected some cool women who were plenty attractive, but just weren’t “show-stoppers”, as I used to say. 20-25 years ago, my mentality was “only be seen with exceptionally attractive women, which will draw more; but been seen with anything less than that, it’ll blow your whole mystique.” That was definitely ego-driven and not the best version of myself. I was never rude to anyone, that’s not my style. But I do think I broke a few hearts along the way, just via unrequited interest, and I feel bad about that, plus a few of them, looking back, I was crazy to not go for them. But maybe hearts would’ve been bruised worse in that scenario, so maybe it’s for the best😅

Also, in sports…. I'm definitely a team player, I’m not out there making selfish plays necessarily…. but I definitely desire to be that guy everyone marvels at. I don’t think that’s the kind of athlete I am, lmfao, and certainly not now that I’m an old chunk of coal, but in my mind, I want to be the one making the big play, getting all the accolades, etc. And when I do make the play, I’m not shy about celebrating, haha. I like to have my spotlight moment😅😂

I also have an ego about being tough or intimidating. It’s kind of a known thing in my hockey league that you don’t fuck around with me or with my teammates if I’m on the ice. This would probably be different in pro hockey, lmao, there’d be bigger and badder guys than me for sure, but in the ranks of “I have to go to work in the morning” players, I’m kind of seen as “that guy.” And I definitely like that😅😂

But the ego part of it is that the biggest “trigger” for me to get to the point of fighting (I’m SUPER laid back most of the time, and I don’t go looking for trouble, I only answer the door when it knocks), is to say or do something that signals to me that you don’t think I can kick your ass. All it takes is a “Pffftttt…what are YOU gonna do?🤨🙄”, and I might lose my mind. And I sure as hell wish I was past that at 45 years old, but here I am, lmfao🤷‍♂️😂 Luckily I’m not put in that situation in regular life, usually. But I swear it’s every other week in hockey. People work in a bank or something all day and then want to LARP as tough guys for an hour one night a week, lmao.

So…I wouldn’t say I’m an outwardly conceited person. I do have a fairly high opinion of myself in some areas. I have no problem taking lesser roles in things, I don’t have an ego in that sense. I’m finding myself getting more elitist about intelligence, due to the horrific state of political affairs in the U. S.. I don’t like getting into calling people stupid, it feels unproductive and juvenile, but I’m at a point where I don’t know what else to call it. Hearing what falsehoods people believe to be true, unwavering when presented with contradictory evidence, and just doubling down on their positions, qualifying for a gold medal in mental gymnastics…. I just don’t know what to even say. And it makes me feel exponentially smarter just by way of comparison, and knowing what’s out there.

But I keep most of this internalized (not as much on GAG😅😂), and I’d say I’m very down-to-earth in my day to day life, maybe just a little vain about how I look/dress😝

Nah. I'm usually the most reasonable and well grounded person in the room. This is because I aim for objective truths over everything. Many people cling on to their beliefs they have about themselves or the world. Whereas mine will never be concluded. The way I see it, the human mind is too primitive to truly conclude most things in a world is too complex & changing. To be too sure of myself would make me embarrassed. It would be like seeing an arrogant ant. Like you're still an ant bro calm down.

I think I'm egotistical in the way that I will prioritize my experience of life and be stubborn about it until someone convinces me that there is more to it than that.
Without ego, you can't set boundaries and people will keep pushing your boundaries and taking more from you than you give and still blame you for it.

Of course I have an ego, everyone has an ego. It’s a lot of what gives us the conscious thought to be here, now, and aware of all that goes on. The ego is a huge factor in decision making, and mine is no exception. I make so many decisions focused on the self: I decide to make money not just to survive but because I want the money to buy things, because I deserve to be able to buy good things. Going to work, by this logic, is an egotistical decision lol

"Do you even have an Ego?"

No, people who need validation from others are lacking in self esteem.

If I ever "brag" about anything, its because I want to find a likeminded person, or because I want to be paid for a skill based job/product.

never really had one until a few years ago

tried being selfless in a selfish world. didn't work out well

today I'm proud of my ego and proud shattering the egos of those who oppose me

idc if people disagree with me. the moment they try to question my character, I'll reflect a mirror back to them and expose them for who they are

Everyone as an ego and if someone ever tells you they don’t they are lying to themselves. My ego isn’t big and isn’t noticeable however in certain topics or situations it can be very noticeable and that’s why I say we all have ego and ultra ego

Big enough to be comfortable in just being me and not accepting other people's shit. Small enough to have an accurate idea of my skills and to not be a dick about it.

In front of a white or beautiful latin woman my ego is gone. She can make me lick her feet and spit on my face, make me drink her pee and slap me and spit in my mouth and basically rape me and I will say it was consentually non consensual sex.
