How can I stop him from being a bully?

Hello! I am an 18-year old public highschool student boy.

How can I stop my 17-year old brother (who is skilled in Wrestling, BJJ, Muay-Thai, & Boxing) from being a bully? He's a unique bully in that he only targets other bullies.

For example, he brutally beat up and humiliated a teen skater who bullied a deaf boy.

Also, my 17-year old brother also brutally beat up a college frat boy after gaining info about the college frat boy pulling cruel pranks on a midget special needs kid.

My 17-year old brother was so brutal towards his victims to the point that many bullies stop acting like bullies in front of him or just avoid him.

Also, my 17-year old brother is crazy. He doesn't get scared if bullies are strong, aggressive, sadistic, or have huge numbers. He said to me that he always likes a challenge.

It seems like he's literally the opposite of the stereotypical bully (the types who pick on lone meek weaklings) because the stronger, the more sadistic, the more aggressive, the more evil, and the more powerful his targets are, the more he wants to fight them.

My 17-year old brother is also arrogant in that when an adult told him that he's a good person for fighting bullies, my 17-year old brother just laughed at the adult and told the adult that "he's just a bad person destroying other bad persons'.

I think my 17-year old brother is crazy. One day, he will die because he is so reckless.

How can I stop my brother from being a bully?

Dude, I get that your brother is trying to stick up for the little guy and all, but the way he's going about it is super messed up. Beating people up, even if they're bullies, is not cool. That's just creating more violence and aggression.

I know he's super skilled in all those martial arts and stuff, but that doesn't give him the right to be a bully himself. Fighting fire with fire is just gonna make the whole situation worse. Plus, he's gonna end up in serious trouble if he keeps this up.

The best thing you can do is try to talk some sense into him. Explain that even though he thinks he's doing the right thing, the way he's going about it is only going to lead to more problems down the line. Maybe see if you can get him to redirect that energy into something positive, like volunteering or mentoring other kids.

You could also try getting your parents involved, if they're reasonable people. Maybe they can help get through to him that his behavior is unacceptable, and there are better ways to stand up for people without resorting to violence.

At the end of the day, you gotta make it clear to him that what he's doing is wrong, even if his intentions are good. Encourage him to find a more constructive outlet for that protective instinct. Dude's gonna get himself in serious trouble if he keeps this up. You gotta be the voice of reason, man.

I know it's not easy, but you gotta try to get through to him before he goes too far. This is the kind of thing that could really mess up his whole life if he's not careful. Just be patient, be firm, and try to steer him in a better direction. He's gotta learn there are consequences, even if he thinks he's doing the right thing.

I don't know if there is much you can do, but I would recommend therapy for your brother, and if you think this situation has affected you, you could also seek therapy. Remember, even though it's hard to see your brother like this, you have to take a breath and remind yourself that it's not your job to fix him, even though this situation must be so tough for you to stand in.
