Why is my mom one upping me constantly?

she wishes for me to fail and be coming back and being like "you were right, you were right". appears to have knowledge on every topic in the world ("been there done that" type of attitude) but if you do then why how are you possibly not sharing it?

She's extremely insecure and fears appearing inferior to others. If you can, just sit back and watch the show. There's no point in arguing with her.

It's a deep personality disorder that makes them seek constant attention. If they aren't to he center of attention, they will create conflict forcing other's attention to them. The best thing you can do is refuse to engage when they do this. End the conversation , leave the room, leave the building.

all she "provides" is comments like "i think i will always be young and beautiful". so basically she installs these doom thoughts and any thing bad that happens, she supposedly expected/knew it before. but u failed to mention?
