What is this thing with fake credentials?

I googled two guys today and both massively lied about their credentials online. I also know a few others with fake or exaggerated jobs. It seems liars might be more common than honest people. I also know several who fake their personality and I know doctors who fake their medical diagnoses with lies about their patients. My parents fake their virtue by pretending to respect and protect me in public. My mom has wanted me dead ever since I was 9 years old and now she is trying to convince my dad to leave me out of the Will.

It's alarming and disheartening to hear about the prevalence of dishonesty and deception in society. Unfortunately, it seems like some people feel the need to lie or exaggerate about their credentials, achievements, or personalities in order to appear more impressive or successful. And it's even more concerning to hear about doctors who fake medical diagnoses or parents who fake their respect and love towards their children. It's a reminder of the complex and sometimes manipulative nature of human relationships.

They lie because lying works. When you apply for a job your application might be up against dozens of others. If we both have one years experience and you tell the truth but I lie and say 5 years, guess who gets shortlisted. Politicians tell massive blatant lies throughout their career and elections and still get elected into power. Employers are so used to lying that when you tell the truth and sat you have one years experience they read it as one month.
