What does it mean when a kid doesn’t want anyone to say anything to them they want people to let them do what they want to do?

It means they are independent. That's fine as long as they are considerate of others. Considerate doesn't mean serving others, it just means not harming them.

I was a very independent-m8nded child. By the time I was 7 no one could tell much. This was understandable, because I was better informed about many things than the adults around me. Then I had a child and they were pretty much the same. ❤️❤️❤️

You won't be able to change them. They will decide for themselves. They may agree if you have good reasons. They won't care about tradition or other's opinions.

It means they are a kid. They think the world revolves around them and they want to choose all the things they want. That’s a normal part of growing up and they will receive discipline and boundaries from parents and those adults taking care of them.

That's a simple answer, but it's never that simple. Some children are strong enough to stand up for themselves against unreasonable adults. The problem is not the child. The adults need to look at themselves if they want to have a relationship with their child.
