Simply, why? Why are these vulnerable young women being executed, often by the other parent? Especially black women. Why are crisis shelters or other social services not available/adequate for 1st time moms? Should moms (and dads too) get home visits after birth like many other nations do?

That's very narrow and specific. Where did you even find such a statistic? I have poured through official crime statistics for years (more like decades) and have never seen such a thing. Not saying it's not true, but I have never seen that particular breakdown.

OK, pregnant women. Pregnant women are mostly young. Homicide is the second leading cause of death for ALL people between the ages of 15 and 35.

So you need to show that the homicide rate for pregnant/post partum women is significantly higher than the average for their age group.

Heart disease and stroke are the leading causes of death among pregnant women.

In the first week postpartum, severe bleeding, high blood pressure, and infection are the most common causes of death.

One week to a year after delivery, cardiomyopathy (a weakened heart muscle) is the most common cause of death.

The second leading cause of death for pregnant and postpartum women in the United States is mental health conditions, including suicide and overdose/poisoning related to substance use disorder.

For black women in a VERY limited set of area in the US, homicide is the second leading cause of death, but that's not only true for pregnant and post-partum women in those areas. It's also true for men. Out of curiosity, why did you single out women, and pregnant and port-partum women in particular? Just curious.

Probably a few reasons. Do the figures include abortion as well? There's no real data but in the UK it's knife crime that's the problem, a woman can't own a gun or even mace for self defence. UK women have problems with gang rape, acid attacks, honour killings, knife attacks, domestic violence, forced marraiges.

I would guess that a lot of the deaths are related to single mothers, crime and a lack of healthcare. Social services are overworked and crisis shelters are full.
