I had long term girlfriends from the time I was 16. We were monogamous and infatuated, but I wasn't interested in kids and I wasn't yet ready to get married.

I was in my early 30s when started thinking about the possibility of settling down.

After a couple more long term relationships that didn't work out, I met my (future) wife when I was 40. We got married two years later. She is 2.5 years younger.
We've been happily married now for over 28 years, had LOTS of fun, and built a wonderful life together.
Both of us had been in relationships before but never married or had kids.
We both take marriage vows very seriously and work to keep our relationship happy and healthy.

A little over a week ago, we went to an annual buffet/Christmas gala that is put on by the company that manages our finances. We sat at a table with a good looking couple. It turned out that he was 96 and she was 91. One would never have guessed. They had been married for 5 years and seemed very happy.

So, no, it's never too late.

Real love? From my experience, I might say at least in my generation it's no longer possible to find it in the first place, but there seems to be some evidence to the contrary. Now... While there might not be a time limit other than one's death (looks like that's going to be the case for me) for finding real love, assuming it can even be found in the first place, there is a kind of time limit for setting up a family. Above a certain age, women are no longer fertile, and at that point it's impossible for a woman to set up a family. And then there's the period when setting up a family is still possible, but there's a high risk of birth defects for the children... I'd like to avoid those, so it it pushes the realistic time limit even further back. Can there be true love without a family? I could not say.

Otherwise, the one absolutely certain and perfectly true love is the God Almighty's love towards every single human. Now there's no time limit for this kind of true love, but it begins at conception in every single case anyway, so no time limit would even make any sense.

If you are lonely at any point in your life, there is someone else who is just as lonely and a good person and good match for you. Hundreds or thousands of them within an hour of you. Find them.
