For those of you who have experienced severe trauma, how do you live your life?
Are you in the fight? do you have down days?

therapy, meds, weed for sleep, getting rid of toxic people, and just taking care of myself. so like i try to have habits and routines that help. it's about understanding yourself through trial and error (like seeing an episode coming so you go home instead of losing your shit at work)
am i still struggling and sometimes go back to bad coping methods? 100% but i think at this point it just takes time and a consistent effort to TRY to improve even if it's a little bit at a time or you end back where you started. ik it's fucking hard tho and feels like you're behind everyone else, BUT it does get better
It’s bloody hard. For me it took the best part of 35 years and a failed suicide to find the right therapist, who told me the key to dealing with what was my trauma was to see myself not as the victim of it, but the survivor. That change in mindset was a catalyst for me. Plus, don’t be afraid of reaching out-even if it’s just to have a rant at life. That can be therapeutic in itself.
I personally feel like understanding psychology better helps. It's harder to deal with trauma when you don't understand why it happened.
