My 19 year old little brother left angry yesterday, Husband told me it time to let him grow up am I a horrible sister for allowing my brother to live?

My little brother who had just turned 19 and is in college. I was paying for his college tuition in Utah at BYU , I wanted him to be at a Christian stander environment. My little brother has been with an angry additue with me. He wanted to exchange school because he wants to do whatever he wants. At BYU there's rulers he must follow I tough it was the best choice for him since he will be safe. But that little boy hated that idea. That little boy pack his suitcase yelled at me YOUR NOT MY MOM ! and slam the door shut. I stood the next 45 min crying I tough that little boy how to talk how to talk his abcs and number I teach him how to ride a bike. My husband tells me that this was going to happen at some point that the fact is that I am his sister and not his mother I must let him fly and experience adult life himself if he refuses my help. I feel horrible for allowing him on his own.

This kid is 19 years old. He is an adult. If he does not want to go to college you cannot make him. He will find that its tough out there without a college degree.

I don't want to see him financially struggling to pay the bills working in a minimum wage job for the next decade. My brother all he had to do was study really hard and followed BYU rulers. He told me he will get his apartment on his own which now a days it is cost at $1,500 he definitely needs to take the opportunity when he is paying $0 dollars for college. $15k for an apartment. All the 2 bedroom ones I looked at were $1,750 to $2,000. Maybe 1 bedrooms is less, but I didn't look.

He'll either fail at "everything" and it will end horribly or hopefully realize that you were helping him and reach out again. It depends on how long it takes for him to grow up. I don't think I truly understood all my parents did for me until I graduated from college.

And then what? Later when his your age he will regret his choices of going partying instead of staying focus at college. I don't want him to end up working in a minimum wage job not that I have anything against people who work minimum wage jobs. But He got accepted at this LDS College it's free for him because I am paying for it. All his has to do is study really hard and follow Christian standards rulers that BYU expected of him. It's a must at BYU you can't party at certain hour you can't have girls hanging around. In fact party and hitting the clubs is a complete distraction for him.
