my little brother is so disrespectful and abusive and controlling toward everything.. we have a dog that is retarded I think and he's kind of a pain in the but but my brother goes over board and punches the dog or smacks it with rubber bands or pics him up by his fur and just tosses him (its a 90lb German Shepard) this poor dog is scared sh*tless of him and I feel so bad, if the dog were to come up to me wanting attention he'd be like 'stop f***ing begging you stupid f***in dog, he just wants f***ing food' he thinks anytime the dog comes up to anyone its begging for food even tho the person don't have any. he also is like this toward my mom, she gets drunk and is pushy and annoying at times and acts like a kid but he'll play video games for hours and hours while she begs him to let her play just for a little because she's bored and drunk and he'll refuse and even turn it off and when she goes to turn it on so she can play he'll man handle her all over the room throw her on the ground and all kinds of sh*t. he'll tell her she's a stupid toothless **** and she needs to go die and all this and it makes me feel bad. if I say one wrong word toward him he'll freak out and tell me I'm a piece of crap and blah blah blah.. I don't know what the hell to do about him he's cool when he's not being a little f***ing prick but its bullsh*t the way he acts he blows it way out of proportion and its bull. what the hell do you do with a person like this? I see that he has a very bad problem and I don't know what to do

OMG, please get your brother AWAY form this dog. Your brother could, potentially be heavily fined, be made to do community service hours, or even see jail time for the abuse he is inflicting. How old is your brother.

He is acting out because your mother isn't taking control of the family. Sounds like he needs therapy really badly. He has some anger and aggression issues.

Dogs are SOCIAL creatures. They need love and affection and care much like we do. They are pac animals - not solitary. The dog wants love. He probably isn't retarded either, my dear, HE IS AN ABUSED DOG WITH NO CONFIDENCE. Oh and by the way, keep it up and the dog WILL bite back eventually. The dogs who bite are the dogs that have been abused.

For the sake of the dog, please find it a new home. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Find it a home where the owners will exercise the dog, take it to the park to play, feed it GOOD food, not the cheapest bag of kibble you can find, who will cuddle with it, and pet it and train it correctly with positive reinforcement NOT hitting.

Please. Seriously. Get your brother some help and find the dog a new home.. ASAP. God this breaks my heart.

keep a journal and write down dates times when where on everything he does when he is abusive.

tape it if you can.

call the police and have his ass put into check.

its very hard to tell you what is right and what can help in this situation, usually people who are like that do not change over a 911 call or a good spanking, which is very tempting.

BUT what I firmly believe is that he should be kicked out, he wants to think he's a big tough man he can support himself as a man.

Here is what I think you should do, start documenting everything he does that is abusive. After you get a good list, contact a domestic assault hot-line, they should be able to give you more help, and give you directions to the nearest domestic abuse shelter, then next time he is acting up, take your mom and go there.

Drastic action like that is going to be necessary, social workers will get in touch with the police and then that little sh*thead can see how tough he really is.

Or if that isn't an option, I can just beat him up for you.

You need to seek professional help for this guy. He's obviously a danger to himself and others. A psychiatric evaluation is definitely.

You need to seek the help. Tell your dad and have your mom confirm. Even if he doesn't agree press on and he'll eventually see that you really think he needs help. It's the basic parental emotion to put their kids at ease.

But if your parents fail to not do it then I think you should consider living with a relative's house. You'll most probably be safer and it also sends a message to the father that you don't feel safe in the house with your brother there.

You need to get that poor animal out of there asap, you need to phone around and get that dog into a home, that dog has a heartbeat like us all, please don't let it be put through any more torture...bless him.

As for your brother, you need to contact someone and get some help...he's going to turn violent one day and do something serious.

I see where the Answerer is coming from. The mother is an adult and SHOULD act like one. If she is allowing the abuse, then she's allowing it. If she's a drunk, then she probably needs help too, but she's made her bed. That poor dog is COMPLETELY innocent and defenseless in this situation. It did not ask to live in this home, it did not ask for negligent and abusive owners (BTW, QA, you are JUST as much at fault for the dogs and moms abuse as your brother. It's called negligence).
