I'm glad you're not completely offended by my answer. And to be fair to you, my answer was purely based on what your wrote underneath the question. So I don't "know" you and maybe shouldn't have made any assumptions. Sorry for that.

Do keep in mind though that being forgiving isn't always being nice or kind. Some people are better off not being forgiven. For they learn much more about their behaviour and about what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. So in some cases you would do them a bigger favor in the end by not forgiving them.
