Why do rich people have more friends?

It’s not like they are going to share their money with you so why do people choose friends based on how much money they have?

If its opposite gender it makes sense since you are accessing their fertility and biological fitness, but why does it matter if somebody the same gender as you is rich?

I can't and don't want to judge whether other people are really friends with each other or just hang out at the same parties. I've learned that I can have lots of acquaintances, but only a few real, good friends. Whether one of them is rich or not doesn't matter to me or anyone else. I think that's how it is for most people, whether they're rich or poor.

Rich people always have a lot of friends. When the money runs out, friends disappear too.

I belong to 2 business groups that meet on a weekly basis and they are all business owners like me. We network a lot to grow our business and collaborate together to grow each others. It's pretty hard to succeed in business and be an introvert

The similar are drawn to the similar. That's why you see the poor hanging out with the poor, the middle class with the middle class, and the rich with the supposed rich (trump claims he is)

Proverbs 19:4 says, "Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbor".

Proverbs 19:6 says "Many will entreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts".
