When did your parents see you as an adult who can make thier own choices?

For me that's kind of a hard question because I moved out when I was sixteen and a half

And my mom didn't want me to go.. but I had to just because I was 16 and half

Ok so to understand it let give you the quick version of. it

My mom was married to my dad and divorced when I was two

At 5 years old I learned from my cousin that my dad was not my dad. He was my step dad

Then from there , from five years old to ten years old , I don't care what I did he would beat me black an blue with a belt..

At 10 My mom and him got a divorce
At 15 years old
My mom got remarried third husband
At sixteen sixteen and a half He grabbed the hold of me And I said oh no , you don't and I spun him and rammed him up against the wall And I told him never to touch me again
And I had told my mom because of what my2nd dad did to me I told her I would never let anybody hurt me again or beat me up like that again
So when this happened And he hit the wall. I was looking into his eyes I knew.
Something was by And I whispered to him you ever touching again. I will kick your fucking ass
As I turned around, my mom was standing there and she had tears in her eyes.

As I walked by her I apologized and Said I told you I would never let someone hurt me again Just kind of shook her head a little bit. Anyway, week, after that I moved out.
And that's just because.
I did not want to have to go through what I thought I was gonna have to go through with this guy
In the way everything happened it was perfect timing

But anyway from that day until Nine months ago She never really knew me so I don't know if she Thought I was in adult or what

But my sister Choose my step sister And either I still to this day. Don't know What really happened , but she didn't never really likeme. And I really didn't care But all these years I would either go to my mom's or my aunt's house for Christmas or Thanksgiving And as soon as I would get there Everyone would start talking to me and they would say

Oh I heard you did this or heard you did that. And it was just all rumors.. So I got tired of all this And before Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving dinner

I make sure that I would always run in to someone in my family And I started spreading rumors about myself lol

Just because know matter what I would say. Or how many times I would say no that never happen. And my family I mean everyone would always think it was true..

So I played the game of starting my own Rumors.. And then what? I would get questioned about them. At our family dinners I would kind of make it seem like it is true.

Well my sister now had a husband And they both would always say stuff to me at these dinners To give me pissed off so I would do something Stupid

I always thought it was funny Because it would not piss me off But it would test them off because Of the way that I was accepting The things that they were saying And they would try their hardest and it would never work.. And I always made sure that when I was leaving that, I went and gave my aunt my grandmother my mom a hug Goodbye, I shook my uncle's hands say Goodbye, see you next time and with my sister, I wouldn't give her a hug but I would walk up to her boyfriend and grab ahold. Of his hand shake it and kind of bring him into my chest. And I always told him one of these days. I was going to kick his a**I would whisper to him. And I said I don't want you guys are trying to do and i'm not going to fuck up my mom's Christmas or my aunts Christmas depending on who is having the dinner I said just to make you guys happy I should be you have a big mouth And I told him What do these days he's gonna get And then that's what he would get loud and belligerent

But he would get really loud and belligerent and want to go outside with me and I would always say OK. Come on, very calm, very quiet and I would tell him to be quiet that nobody else needed to know what was going on. But he couldn't do that. So I would just walk away and say one of these days

And my sister and him got a divorce. I was in another state but I came back for vacation. And I found out that they got a divorce and he was going to sell his house. Is my siswent to Tennessee or something with some guy? I don't know, but anyway.
I went over to look at the house. I was going to buy it. And he asked me if I wanted to go to borrow and place some pool or something like that. I said sure. Well, that lasted 20 minutes because we were playing 2 girls. A game him, a pull and he kept smacking one girl on her a** I'm just making a fool of himself. And she finally told me she was gonna call the cops on him. If he didn't knock it off and I kept telling him to knock it off. But anyway I got him to leave
And I had a rent a car and I told him just to take me back to the rent. A car. I was gonna go home and say well. Let's stop it one more said as long as you can maintain. Okay. Well, we're walk in there 20 minutes. In there he started doing the same thing to some land I said that's it. I'll go, come on, Duke, let's go out. I'm gonna go home. He was totally embarrassing me. So we left and probably a football field away From getting to his house.
He slams on his brakes. Because I because I kept telling him what the Dickey was for doing what he was doing so he slams on the brakes, gets out of this truck and he throws his keys as far as he can and I just started laughing. I got what you do that for I got this is how stupid you are.

I told him he was never gonna find his keys. It just goes. to show how stupid. He was

You threw this key as far as you could and I just started laughing even harder but each have calling the names that I just kept walking towards my vehicle is you can tell me how he was gonna beat my a** and I told him he didn't have balls enough to do I got quite a ways. Away from him and then I could hear his feet running towards me. And I told her if you touch me. I'm going to kick your a**Well the way you ran up behind me grabbed me from my neck and we went down my back against his chest and I told him to let me go so I get this shit out of them Broke his nose knock some teeth out And I told him.
I should have done that a long time ago. But like I said there was always going made that time in place happen But anyway that made me look even worse

Because I could hear him on the phone talking to my mom telling her that I just beat him up. And like I said, I was just on vacation and I was staying at her house. It was only the 2nd day I was there.
So when I got to her house she asked me what happened. I said I'm not gonna tell you. He's gonna have to tell you and she said he didn't. I said. Well, what did he say and there was a big lie? I said no that's not what happened at all I said ask him again and then tell him the truth will set him free well 20 minutes later I get a phone call from my sister. And I said well, I told you guys 1 day it was me. What happened and I told her, I said. What did he tell you? I said you have to ask him.
I said because he lied to mom on what happened and I'm sure he lied to you too, and she told me what he said. I said no, that's not what happened. I said ask him again.
And tell him the truth will set him free. But it took like three days more but he finally told them the truth what happened.. And that's when I got to tell my mom and my sister all this shit All these rumors I said solving bullshit A big lie And he was gonna have to tell you the truth. Not me because you as you never believe me so. But finally the truth came out and from that day. My mom kinda got to look at me a little bit different. But I don't think it was until about a week before she passed away.
That never can't tell I don't know. I would have thought maybe seventeen because yes hello I know none of my friends have moved out of their parents' house

but it was a gradual process... even when I was six years old, I would make "my own choices" for some things

and then more and more as I was growing up... the legal age for adulthood was 18 though

I live in Europe
Older girl 21 wants to go to USA for summer
But I'm doing my best to persuade her not to
It's her choice but I don't think she's old enough or ready for that.

Another example, she would like a car
I'm happy to pay for lessons, insurance, tax etc
But the actual vehicle she can pay when she can afford it. Because the responsibility is hers
I'm not pushing her into that.
