Anyone can develop narcissistic traits, and not uncommon with all the bad influences around, especially in the shit show known as the USA.

You just didn't pick up on the signs. Narcissists are clever about hiding the fact that they are in fact are narcissist.

Well he's always had minor narcissistic traits over the years. Just wasn't ebough to bother me. He's gone full blown narc now this past year. Can't even be friends with him now he's so paranoid and weird about everything. 17 years of friendship down the drain.

It is not your fault that this happened. A narcissist only gets worse as time goes on. It is good that you are breaking away now before it is too late to do so.

It doesn't have anything to do with me. He's just mad about his own life is all. At 35 you're kind or at the piss or get off the pot stage and it's not necessarily a fun one. He seems to have gone back to how he lived in high school. I don't know. I don't get it.
