Elderly dad throws tantrums every night over nonsense I ask him what is wrong and he says doesn't have time to explain I am a liar and thief?

He gets mad about everything and berates me all day. He talks to himself all fay. bIt's dumb stuff. Then after six hours of him bitching he says I am too sensitive and negative and need to happy all the time when he is screaming so he won't have to scream. He doesn't have dementia. He follows me around watching me work and screams at me for the tiniest infractions all day and keeps me up all night. Fighting. I drop veggies on the floor because he was following me around screaming I was doing it wrong.

He blow-dries his self at night instead of taking his pain meds because some quack on TV said to blow-dries yourself instead of take meds

This sounds like a really really intense situation you're having to deal with. This is abusive (emotionally) in the extreme.

But it's more than that obviously. But you're in an abusive situation, and if you'll let me, I would like to help you figure out what can be done. You can't keep going through this much longer. You're going to have a mental breakdown from the stress (I mean that in all seriousness)

I could almost feel the frenetic intense anxiety jumping off the screen as I read your post.

This is a serious situation. I would like to do whatever I can to help. At the very least... you need someone to vent some of the insane things you're having to navigate. I'll gladly lend my ear anytime.

You and I need to have a long talk (well likely several long talks).

You're not able to initiate direct messages because you're a "level 1" I have to send the first message to you. After you receive my message, we'll be able to message back and forth from then-on.

I would initiate DMs by sending you that first message right now, but I always ask first. Most people want to talk over DMs (it's way easier, especially if there's going to be a back-and-forth conversation). Over the years there have been maybe 4 or so people (women) who preferred to just chat with me publicly here, by replying to the other person's last reply.
