I have a friend who will send me guilt trip texts if I don’t text her everyday and all day should I block her?

You could just do what I do; turn off notifications for that conversation and then have a particular time of day that you catch up on all the bullshit they send you and then respond. You're allowed to have boundaries with people; it's easy to forget, but it's true.

I have a buddy who sends me a constant barrage of news stories throughout the day. I've spoken to him about this, so it's not as bad as it used to be. But it's not unheard of for him to send me 30+ things. It used to annoy the hell out of me, but then I just muted the texts from him and I check it at the end of the day.

Lol That is sooooo relatable... Yeah, I would recommend you do what I did. If the person isn't sending you time critical stuff, just get back to them at the end of the day.

Why wouldn't you just tell her that the guilt shit is 3rd grade and it's not gonna work. Tell her you have other commitments and can't be texting all day.

Sounds like she doesn't have a life and wants a text buddy to fill up the hours of boredom.

If she doesn't respond well to direct communication, block her and tell her you're doing it.

Tell her that. Give her a limit, say 5 texts per day. Tell her if she can't do that then you're gonna block her 7AM to 7PM or whatever time you need.

I did tell her but I feel like it becomes like an all day thing again and you are back to square one maybe this friendship isn’t the best

That's an option. Use it if you think you need to. it's the only way she's gonna learn to respect boundaries. You'd be doing her a favor even though it may not seem like it.

Personally, I have no problem doing that with a lot less provocation than you've described. Why surround yourself with people who annoy you?

I need to work on myself im a massive people pleaser. I prefer friends to be more independent instead of documenting their life through text. We are just jot compatible as friends

The only one who is gonna take care of you is you. As it stands, you are letting this go on when you have the power to end it. It is your decision. Your friend is likely not going to stop.

Usually I respond fast with people but this person excessively texts 24/7 and forever trapped into texting cycle nobody else is like that most people just send 2 texts a week as they are independent
