What do you think about people who get so defensive when you disagree with them?

Looks like some people want to state their views and don't like when they are criticised for it or when someone challenges their views. They just want others to accept and agree with their views and get nasty if you don't.

It really depends on how and in what manner. I very much enjoy civil discourse opposing my views.

It gets infuriating if the other party is communicating dishonestly. After all communication assumes two people striving to understand each other. However as long as I am approached by an open mind I will very happily respond the same way and am more than willing to change my mind on topics.

When they get nasty or insulting … conversation is over. Pointless to continue. Common in internet land. It would be interesting if they were creative about it. Most are not.
