Should I give a pothead a chance?

There's this guy that goes to my school and I thought he was cute so I asked my friend about him because she has a few classes with him and she told me about him but she said he was a "pothead" which was a major turn off for me because I'm straight edge which means I don't do drugs or drink and it's kind of a way of life like a religion of sorts. It sadly enough, hard to find people my age who don't abuse substance, but I think he's really interesting and I want to know him more, and who knows maybe he'll quit, but at the same time I don't want to force him if that's the way he wants to live his life I can't stop that.

So what do you think? Should I still try to talk to him? Or should I find someone else.

In life I always say if you never try you will never know & when it comes to a chance everyone deserves a chance in life. On the flip side listen to your friend & if she’s telling you he’s a pothead & you give him a chance the odds are you might turn into a pothead as well. Let him hit the pipe & do his own thing & do yourself a favor & find someone else.

In my experience people don't generally change. What you see is what you get. You could try hanging out with him to see how much of a pothead he is.

if you want to not do drugs then don't be with someone who actively does them. be with people who got similar beliefs/goals
