What would you do if your partner told you that you can no longer talk to your brother or sister?

Your partner thinks your sibling is a bad influence on you and they don’t like your sibling whatsoever. What would you do if your partner threatened to leave you if you continued speaking to your sibling?

That really depends on what the bad influence is and what impact it's been having on the relationship. Imagine if said sibling always got you steaming drunk and you spent most of your time nursing a hangover and barely functioning with your partner. Or they were a drama queen constantly complaining and bringing your mood down. Your partners "demand" would clearly be from a place of care. And they have a right to choose to leave you of your behaviour - because of your sibling - is raining your relationship. Just as you yourself can choose what's more important, your partner or sibling.

Now if there isn't a suitable justification for the demand? Well I'd call my partners bluff and see what happens because better they walk than control you.

Yea my ex hated that I talked to my brother on the phone on Friday nights and having a few beers with him , she acted like it was the worse thing ever. I would only do it , if her and I had no plans and we were just sitting at home , I didn’t see the big deal about it because I always offered her to join us , but since she didn’t really enjoy drinking , she would have a shot about it. She knew I liked to drink when she met me and she knew I liked drinking , she assumed she could change me and make

I'd think it was nice to have space in those scenarios. I'd go phone my mum or a friend and have my own gossip. Or go out. Or maybe I'd enjoy some quiet time inside by myself. It would only be a problem if we never seemed to get time alone cos of your brother or like if I was horny haha and you were "too busy" to give it me and then "too tired" or drunk later as well and this was a frequent regular thing.

If she was horny , I would hang up with my brother lol again I only talked to my brother when we weren’t doing anything , just sitting at home , so I didn’t see the big deal about it , she was just a control freak that complained every time I wanted to have some fun. My brother and I would only talk for a couple hours at most , but if I had something else to do , I would tell my brother not tonight , I will call you tomorrow instead. Every time she got on the phone and talked to her friends’ or whoever , o never said a word about it.

Yea my brother and I lost our Mom and our older brother 3 months apart from each other , so if sitting on my porch at home having a few beers on an Friday night after I worked all week makes me a bad guy, then I guess I bad 😊
