Why does my mom keep pressuring me ever since I started working a new job?

I recently got a new job and I’m still not passed my probation period yet…. my mom knows this yet she keeps pressuring me to go to the nursing home ( to visit my dad when my sister hasn’t gone a single time) with her every time - there are lots of outbreaks there and I don’t wanna get sick either……why is she pressuring me and what can I do to get out of it?

Well maybe she knows something you don't. Doesn't really matter. Because it's your choice. He only has so much time left. And you all ready know that. He's probably not the same dad you remember. And you don't want to go because you don't want to remember this way.
And I really hate to say this but it's not about you it's about him. And just maybe you could make his passing little bit better easier for him let him Verbally tell you what he needs to or Telepathically. How ever he does or doesn't he's tired. And With no family around him I'm sure it breaks his heart but yah I don't know what kinda dad he was. None of my business. It sounds like he raised a good daughter with a good heart so once again. It's your choice sorry I threw all of that out there like that but I just lost both my parents. My dad didn't know him I meant him 3 times. And my mom past 1 month after he did my dad left me things but I never went and pick them up and my mom got to say good by in her way and it was nice to hear

Would need more details to have a worthwhile opinion but parents always feel weird when their kids do anything that reminds them that they are no longer kids but young adults with their own lives, responsibilities etc. Insecurity, esp since your Dad is hospitalized, is also a factor. Her world is changing and though everyone says will say change is inevitable and agree with it that doesn't mean they are able to cope with it.

I think she's pressuring you because you always go and nothings happened to you with getting sick so she's in her selfish ways

Because your Mom is panicking about your Dad being in the hospital and for whatever reason she is choosing you to go be with your Dad , Are you closer to your Dad then your sister is?

My sister is the one who lived with him and uses the POA if anything happens to him…. she hasn’t gone a single time and I’m always the one that gets pressured

She is the person of authority if anything happened to him - she should be the one taking responsibility and secondly my mom like taking her time and she doesn’t seem to understand that I have to work early the next day and that it’s tiring for me

Ok is your Dad going to be ok or is your Dad not doing well? If he isn’t doing well she probably wants you to go spend time with him because you barely have before , and she knows your sister is always with him

There’s lots of viral outbreaks there and I can’t afford to get sick secondly it gives me bad anxiety being in that type of an environment
