Yep, my mom has always been there and raised my brother and I by herself. She has givin me years of fun from concerts to roadtrips to festivals throughout my childhood (when we could afford it) and raised me, taught us morals, and life skills while being a disciplining, but understanding mother.
I live on my own, but i make sure to keep in contact and even spend time and helping her when she needs the help... especially when she needs the push to get things done, that she habitly puts off.

My mom is my best friend. This is for 4 distinct reasons:
1. She made sure she was nothing like her emotionally abusive mother so that her kids would never suffer like she did
2. She went to therapy before I was born (reason listed above)
3. She has always been honest with me and given me the tools I needed to navigate the world safely and independently
4. Even if she doesn’t understand it at first, she is always supportive because she wants me to be happy above all else.

I used to have a very close relationship with her, but then she became really self centred when I became pregnant with my son, and I’ve had to distance myself from her since. I still see her often but don’t share much about my personal life with her.

she left for a good chunk of my childhood and was very abusive for the rest. she's now trying to be better and gets treatment (she has NPD), so its better but there's just... too much history like honestly idkk lol

Nope. I've been disowned, and even if I wasn't I'd sooner see @Ez-Bri-Z_v2 as a mom, because I know she's a good mom.

Yes, my mom is amazing woman!  Dad passed away 2 years. now... Us siblings visit and spend time with her often. she also has an aid 3 times a week. so she is not lonely.

She's about 2000km away but we still call regularly and can have close conversations in spite of the fact I HATE talking on the phone

No absolutely not!! Her and my older sister abused me physically and emotionally after my dad died. I have disowned both of them.
