Does anyone else try to avoid talking to children they're not related to whenever possible?

A kid came up to me the other day and started asking me questions. I was uncomfortable with it and made an excuse. It just seems like you'll come off as a creep.

Yes, I try to avoid talking to children that are not accompanied by an adult, parent or relative. This is just to protect myself from claims.

I love (other people's) children but they are a huge red flag if not accompanied. I will stop and chat with them when they are in company of an adult but I will not even look at them when I come across them when alone or I will even change sidewalk when I have the feeling that something is not right. Safe is safe. It is so easy to get into some kind of trouble. Why risk it when you can avoid it?

I have kids and for me it is unavoidable but sometime I wish I could avoid other kids some are just rude, mean, totally F ing weird and creepy but there are also a lot of kids that just have a heart of gold and are awesome to converse with and it also great to hear things like that being said to you about your kids, just wish they could do it for me :)

I can't, I'm Provincial Secretary for Youth and Education, I have to talk and interact with children that aren't my own.

Nope, it really does take a village and i’m happy to help a family realize that not all strangers are monsters.

I live in a "retirement" community, and I'm almost never around children. If I ever DO happen to be, I'm not going to be "paranoid" about any potential interactions I have with any children.
