Have you cut off all contact with you're parents?

Question

I cut my parents off, ever since I realized I was used and they treated me like an expired object rather than a human being. Let's just say I am the oldest daughter and a lot was expected from me to raised my younger siblings to being the free house keeper. My parents were extremely religious Catholic fanatics. I made huge big mistakes yes like putting my parents responsibility and needs first before my future and success aside. Yes I have been going to therapy and according to my therapist I have the oldest daughter syndrome and suggested I cut my parents off because they're toxic. Feel free to make you're research about the oldest daughter syndrome. I am wondering how many people have gone no contact with their toxic parents?

No, I did not, even though I am the eldest daughter, I have not cut off my parents because we have a very good relationship. My sister being 2 years younger than me, has a similar experience with my parents.

Although, I must also say that I have an older brother (also by 2 years) but that does not impact on how I perceive my parents. I don't have the feeling that the one or the other child was favored over the other one.

I am sad to hear that you had to endure that kind of traumatizing experience and I wish you all the best.

No, because my parents went to therapy before I was born and became well-adjusted adults. We get along well now that I’m also an adult.

I have, with my father, yes. I still talk to my mother, but my father is dead to me, and has been for many years. He could actually  be  dead by now, and I wouldn't even know. I wouldn't care, either.

Depends.  My dad no because I am on his will and he's rich. He's an asshole but worth it. I cut off my mom because she's an alcoholic whore with no money.
