No, because I just don’t care that they’re asking in the first place since they’re of no concern in my personal life. I already assume that a coworker trying to fill the space between an otherwise awkward one-on-one encounter doesn't actually give a damn about how my day is or how I’m doing in general but it’s nothing for me to be passive. ‘I’m doing fine, how about you?’ ‘I’m fine as well’, cool, fine, whatever. Elevator doors open. Break room exited. Moment over. I really look at it with that much carelessness, I can only worry about myself and my intentions. Me, I actually care when I ask people, I genuinely do but I don’t expect them to care in return and it’s personally no big deal if they don’t. I’m already surrounded by the people who do.
