Why are college students/grads so damn arrogant and obnoxious?

If I have to guest at least 90& of the people who use Reddit are a prime example of this. I even have a few family members who embodied these attitudes. they think they know how the economy works just because they won a game of Monopoly.

they think they've completed the biggest task in life and that everyone who hasn't done what they done are automatically below them. they are also the worst people to go to when you are having financial other problems in life. they dismiss this as "you are just making excuses." like if they've jump through 100 hoops of flames.

the worst they've probably ever experienced in their lives was worry about flunking the final, while they are they stay warm and cozy, partying and fucking their lives away in their dorm as their parents and the financial aid department paid for all their mess.

meanwhile I have friends and coworkers who served this country. literally took humiliation from their superior, probably had near death experienced during training, when days without eating or sleeping, took bullets, and witness their comrads get blown to peaces act more humble and ethical than them

Some people feel they're better than you because they feel they have more knowledge than you in certain aspects and that their degrees will make sure they have a "better" life than most people while others will struggle. So, they feel smug and starts acting obnoxiously.

I think it is the indoctrination they underwent throughout school. You know who to blame. But only about 65% are affected in this way. Maybe a little more. More to credit the ones who are not.

indoctrination is the major keyword. it can't be a coincidence that a lot of them believe everything their professor told them. if their professor told them that masturbating to a picture of their mom is healthy they probably will do that in no time.
