Do you have any cool uncles?

I think that uncles are very underrated. They are usually the ones that impart real wisdom that your parents would never tell you.

My wife had an uncle that used to say that after the 4th of July , summer is over.

My uncle used to say that the sadists always find the masochists.

I did. I had only one uncle and he was so cool and so much fun to hangout with but also very sweet. I used to laugh so much around him. I was his favourite kid among my siblings. He also had some really cool stuff. He used to get me my favourite sweets all the time everytime he'd come back to city and if he didn't, he'll be like "let's go!" Even if I don't want to so he could give me treats.

He would never say no to me but most importantly that really made me love him and respect him so much is that he would understand me the way no one could and even if I would get mad at him and won't talk. He would still show nothing but love, respect and care. Not even my parents could understand me that well. I didn't even need to say things but he'd knew just exactly how I'd feel or think or say even though we couldn't spend much time together as he used to live very far and visited once every few months.

Sadly he died in his middle age and it's been over 14 years. I miss him so much.

I have two uncles, my dad's brothers, and they are the best! I'm closest to my uncle Dan, because he lives just a few miles away. He owned a construction company, so he let me work for him in the summer, usually doing office work but occasionally I would pick up the grounds at a job site. During school I'd also help on weekends. He is undoubtedly one of the sweetest, kindest, yet funniest men I ever met. He taught me not to take life so serious, that there'll be enough time to be serious when you actually have "real responsibilities", yes, I had a hard time having fun when I was young lol I actually bought the same vehicle as him, because I liked his so much. When I moved three years ago, I remember about a month after being in my new home, he called me just to ask how I'm doing and I started crying. I realized how much I missed him without even realizing it, if that makes sense.

I get this. My favorite uncle had a beach house near where I live. He used ot spend summers down there. I used to spend a lot of time with him. Went SCUBA diving together.
He also always had stuff that he needed me to help him do at his house.
He was a cop and had all kinds of stories about stuff that happened. He only told me the funny stuff. He could make me wet may pants I would laugh so hard.
He died 3 summers ago. His kids sold the beach house and the new owners completely redid the place so it is just not the same

I had a cool uncle. He was my mom's brother in law. I liked him a lot. He was so funny. And he was a lot of fun. He took our family to a ghost town in the desert one time. And another time he took us out to a place in the desert where there are ancient marine fossils and I got to dig some with a pick hammer. He took us on other adventures, too.
He always treated me with respect, too. My parents treated me like a kid, but he talked to me like a person.
I have lots of good memories of him.

For some reason uncles are like that. Maybe they can see things more objectively because they are not responsible for you.

Out of my dad's three brothers Uncle Donald was as cool as Dean Martin and resembled him a tad bit. The other two, not so much. Mom had four sisters, no brothers. Uncle D always took my side against dad. Sibling rivalry I guess. Dad was 5 years older and Uncle Donald was also married to my mom's sister. They had two boys. My double first cousins.

My ex girlfriend had twin brothers. These guys were identical twins. They went to the same college and majored in the same thing. When they graduated they both went to work for the same company. One of them got married and the other one married thew wife's sister. I thought it was weird.

My dad was pretty close to his "favorite" brother, and he was dating my aunt and introduced my dad to mom. Uncle Donald knew my mom's dad. I never got to meet Granddad because somebody murdered him when mom was 14. So Uncle Donald kind of looked after her, she being the youngest of 5 girls.

My uncle was one of the smartest, kindest and most hilarious people I knew, but he sadly passed away a few years back 💛

All of my uncles have passed away. One was interesting. He always had a beer in his hand, and got in trouble for getting my sister drunk on her 18th birthday. After that, my mother didn't talk to him for years.
