Did you ever bring a guy home when your parents were out of town?

My parents are very strict with house rules and they have imposed a midnight curfew for me though many times I ignore it and go out late anyway. Going against their wishes seems like the only solution in this case since they do not have any respect for my privacy despite telling them many times that I’m 25 and should not all have to ask for permission to go out. I’m still working on my savings to move out.

they are usually always at home but they will be out of town next week for business. I consider bringing my boyfriend over since I’ll probably never get the same opportunity soon. Any advice? I would have asked them normally but they don’t seem to care about my wishes and doubt they will let him come. If anyone has done this pls point out any tips so they don’t get the hint

You can certainly do what you want when they're out of town, but I'd be very careful. What if they come home early?

But here's the bottom line: It's their house and therefore it's their rules. I think they're being overbearing and unreasonable at your age, but that's what's the facts.

If you can move out sooner than you'd planned, I would. I'd rather have privacy and a living space where I can do what I want over waiting any longer. No 25 year old should have a midnight curfew. That's high school.

I understand they might be worried, but as long as they know where you are and who you're with, and what time you're likely coming home, that should be enough. Unless your coming home wakes them, and that is the issue about not having your own place.

Consider working extra hours or taking a second part-time job to get out quickly. No one should have to put up rules made for teen-agers. Living at home doesn't work when you don't have private space, a separate entrance and you're an adult.

Oh it gets even worse. They made me install location sharing apps to track my location in addition to questions they ask regarding the identities of my friends.

Remove those apps. They cannot MAKE you do anything you don't assent to. Stop allowing them to interfere in your life to the extent they're doing so.

I hope you're paying them money for groceries and utilities. If you aren't, start. Maybe they think since you're there for free, they can lord it over you. Don't allow this. Get out of there. Plan to go in 60 days or fewer. There are roommate situations that would be more tolerable. Go with that to start.

Later on when you have more money, you might be able to live alone.

Yup, done many many times when I used to live with my parents.

Important thing is you have to know where they're at that time and when they will return. Rest all is just a piece of cake.
