Do you have a friend who is a party pooper?

I have a few "wet blanket" friends who are generally whiny party-poopers who bring down the energy of the group, whine about activities.

Some of the more hyper members of the group have started using their excessive energy to apologize to newcomers on behalf of the party poopers... and they generally piss one another off.

A few of the more balanced members of the group have taken to hanging out one on one and not dealing with all the extra energy and whining, especially for the remainder of the summer months.

I'm trying to find some nice alternatives that are inclusive, but seeing how everyone has gotten with each other it seems like the best thing to do is just let them all be.

Do y'all have friends like these? What do you do in such cases?

If anything, I can be the party pooper out of my circle. I can be a little awkward in some social scenarios that I feel out of place in. I've done a good job of actively avoiding those in the last 5 years-ish. But in my early 20s, I let my friends drag me along too much to scenarios that didn't really vibe with me. Any time there's dancing involved, I don't dance no matter how much someone tries to get me up and involved. They just look at me and feel bad that I'm just there watching. I feel uncomfortable in scenarios like that.

No thankfully. And if im in a situation where i feel like im going to be a party pooper, i extract my self from that situation. I dont want to ruin anyone's fun.

Ugh. I know the type.

sometimes I am like that. I do not get out much anyway.

I know I have intense moments, but I really hope I'm not like that.

I tend to do things with other couples instead of in groups, so it is easy to ditch those who aren't fun to be with.

They would not be a friend for long if they made a regular habit of it.

I had one. Whiney. The whiney was too much so I ceased hanging out with them.
