Have you ever noticed there are a lot of "kind" people who aren't actually kind?

I swear to god he was soo nice. He was ao considerate, went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, bought me food, always asked for permission, caring, got to know me.

Until one day, I found out he wasn't kind at all. His hypocrisy, entitlement, screwed me over too.

And its not even the first time that I have noticed this. I have this pattern where its the nicest people who have hurt me the most. Its not the average or mean people who have hurt me the most

Does anyone else have the same experience? Or is it just me?

There is a difference between nice and kind. Being nice is manipulative. Being kind is, well, good manners.

Nice is me buying you flowers so you'll sleep with me. Kind is me buying you flowers because you slept with me. See the difference?

Yes, I’ve noticed people tend to hide who they really are when they meet you. And it takes time to reveal their character.

Nice isn’t kind. Nice is doing things for both the benefit of others and yourself. Kindness is doing things for others with no real benefit to yourself outside of feeling happy.
