Why do I get along better with men?

Question

I’ve noticed that I feel way more comfortable talking to my guy friends than vice versa, and I’m not sure why.

For me, conversations just flow easier maybe because men usually don’t take it personally if I go quiet for a bit (I’m pretty introverted). I also notice they often keep putting in effort to stay in touch, even after I've gone silent.

I’m not saying women can’t be great friends too. This is just something I’ve observed about myself. Has anyone else noticed they connect more easily with one gender than the other?

I think it has to do with men not shit talking women behind their backs, not causing drama and being straight and to the point. When women hang together it can cause a lot of drama, fighting and emotions because women are emotional creatures.

Men don't tend be at least not in the same way women are. We ain't gonna cause drama and there ain't gonna be a lot of stress involved. I think some women just kinda get sick of hanging out with other women because of that.

As for to what sex I connect with more?

Well I connect with everyone equally I don't know what it is about me that people like or that makes them open up to me but I've had more people then I can remember just tell me their entire life's story within like an hour of meeting me for the first time just complete random strangers. And I mean entire life's story from childhood to present and all the trauma and drama included in between.

I don't tend to keep that many female friends though since I end up dating all of them eventually. I've had maybe one female friend where things were completely platonic but I've long since lost contact with her.

To be honest, i don't have much of a difference for either gender when it comes to friendships. That said, i'm very direct and have my issues that make people either run away or stay (hate it or love it ;-) )

But i can understand it , even have some friends who have that like my best friend Mick (woman, same age). And i'm not surprised , like she says : its easier around you men, you say what you think and you don't go behind someones back.

That said, often women do get a lot of male friends that want more... so i do not know which situation is better?

Women for me do tend to listen more , and just relate when you tell something.
And my male friends... well we drink, play video games or just play some music... should a problem be discussed we all ponder a solution... if none is found its just the double the drinks situation and never mention it again.

So yeah i can imagine that it feels less stressful to be around the opposite sex for you as there are less politics. Just take care to notice the ones that feel more for you and let them know in time ;-).

I think it's nice having a guy friend or guy friends but the downfall in my experience is if you're attractive they may be just waiting on a chance for you to want more than friendship.

That may not be the case for all guy/girl friendships, but from what I've observed and experienced it definitely is.

But yeah it's definitely a different experience being friends with a guy than it is with a girl.

While I cherish both friendships with my two best friends one is a girl and one is a guy, I do see the differences.

It's sort of effortless to be friends with a guy sometimes vs a girl. Like you said they don't really get all bent out of shape if you don't talk to them for a while when you need space to breathe as an introvert.

If I had to guess? A touch of internalized misogyny. Based on a quick glance around your profile, you spend a good amount of time thinking about what men want in a woman and, as a result, may not be able to relate to your fellow woman as well as with a man because they already take up more space in your mind so you’re more comfortable around them. This isn’t anything inherently negative, just an explanation from my own guesses.

In my experience women suck at communicating. Or to be politically correct and passive aggressive, women have a "different style of communication".

Men - Direct. What they say is what they mean. They don't generally get offended easily. They can handle tough conversations, joke, and laugh at themselves. However the exceptions are insecure man-babies who react with anger and/or violence when challenged. They are dangerous and unpredictable.

Women - Indirect. Passive aggressive. You have to guess what they are feeling when they say something then try to piece together what they are trying to communicate. It's exhausting. Women cannot handle tough conversations. Their avoidance of accountability and their innate defensiveness kicks in if they are challenged. So they tiptoe around everything to avoid conflict. You'll never really know what they actually think.

Why should someone always make the effort to keep in contact with you, even after you've grown silent? Relationships are two-way streets.. All relationships/friendships require mutual communication, understanding and care.

If someone consistently goes quiet and always expects others to keep reaching out or contact them first, it can start feeling a bit one-sided. Everyone needs space alone, but communicating that need is very important. Personally, if someone never reaches out first or shows interest in what I've been up to, I take that as a cue to give them space, cause I believe in respecting boundaries.

Bc guys aren't "competing" with you (and the ones who feel they have to are not worth knowing). They're here to support you and to have your support. GIRLS, by contrast, will get petty and competitive with one another (usually for the sake of getting the attention of some guy they both like, which is asinine, but there you have it).

It makes sense that you, a woman, might get sling better with men than with other women.

Many women are competitive, and want to be in control. There is some truth to the statement that 2 women in the house is a problem.

Most men are not that competitive, more accepting of who and what an individual is.

I had a period of time when most of my friends were girls. I do not know how that happened. This may end up being a thing that will change over time. Maybe you get into a relationship with a guy who is jealous and the issue resolves itself

We're more transparent and have no trouble saying what's on our mind. Girls tend to be more manipulative and fake with their intentions. They might wish you well, but have ill intentions towards you behind your back.

Probably because when guys aren't trying to get in a woman's pants or if he's not eager to even if he wants to, we're usually pretty chill.. Plus, a lot of guys find it easier to talk to women as well..
