Do you think college fraternities and pledges are dumb?

Me personally can’t stand them, I think most of them are so dumb and most of them are a bunch of wannabes trying to be cool , when really they look like a bunch of idiots and assholes , I been to a couple frat party’s and they were all dumb , plus some of the things they did at the party’s was messed up , The one party. I was at , they said if anyone passes out , they will get a beer bottle jammed in their ass , So this one kid ended up passed out , and a group of wannabes stuck a bottle up his ass and the one kid kicked it and it shattered in the kids’ ass , Thankfully that kid got his ass kicked for doing it , and he was arrested as well , because the kid that had the glass shattered in his ass , ended up dying from it because glass got into his blood stream. So ever since that frat party I never cared for any of them , they are a bunch of morons in my opinion that think they are cool

My school banned fraternities and sororities and I never lost any sleep over it. I always saw those institutions as magnets for needy assholes. But then I've never been a "joiner". I've always walked my own path and been very selective about who I surround myself with.

I was in private equity, hedge funds, and investment banking in Manhattan for 10 years and the norm there is 25-45 year old former frat boys from Ivy League schools. And it showed. The same personality flaws that got them involved with a frat life and sorority "Barbies" continued as a theme in their lives. They are from a different planet. And not in any good way. I hated being around those people. Never wanted any of them as friends. The destruction they leave in their wake (wife and kids) was interesting but sickening to watch.

We don’t have that circus here. Our fraternities are from the 1700s/1800s and take everything very seriously. I was at a few of their meetings and most members are old men in their sixties.

Now I don't even see what purpose they have other than partying and getting people so drunk they end up at the Emergency Department and going into seizures or some die from alcohol poisoning.

Yes, I do. I'm okay with teasing and challenging each other and I like that when it's sexual play. But there should always be a way to get out without consiquences.
