What makes your birthday special?

My birthday is on Thursday and this weekend all I want to do is spend it with my two favorite people... my bestie and my ex who is now just my best friend. That's what is going to make it really special if I were able to spend it with both of them.

But what about you? What makes your birthday special?

Mine was in December I usually don't do anything for it if people forget me but usually my mom or ex buy me a cake. This year he got me a Cake, Lindor chocolates, Reese's pieces, Rainbow cookies, and Pink lemonade.. All my favourites lol..

I think the fact that I was adopted as a child makes it special in the sense that there's no guarantee that the day I used to celebrate my birthday when I was a very small child was actually accurate. What makes it special now is that I don't tell anybody when it is, and nobody has ever celebrated it for me as an adult. If you are not aware of it, I will tell you that almost every adopted person I have ever known and all adopted children, people in general, hate their birthdays. It's not a day of joy for us or anything to be proud of. It was a day when somebody clearly decided that they didn't want us.

Meh, nothing special really. Unless my mom calls to wish me happy birthday, I dont even remember its my birthday. I've never understood why adults celebrate their birthdays anyway, that day just hits me with the reminder that my twenties are almost over.

Perhaps spending so much time with your ex is a factor in your problem with moving forward. It's okay to break up and not maintain a friendship with a partner, and actually, it's usually the wisest thing to do.
