At what age should children stop taking a bath with another family member?

Sometimes, small children take a bath or shower with a parent, and sometimes with a sibling. I don't think that happens much once kids are approaching puberty but I don't really know how much sooner other parents stopped. I don't know if parents stop that because they are trying to teach modesty, they're afraid of being accused of improper motives, or want to avoid "awkward" questions from their children. We stopped letting our kids bathe together when our daughter was 8 and our son was 6.

I have a vague recollection of taking a bath with my mother when I was a toddler but certainly not once I was 4 or 5 years old. At what age should parents stop this practice, and does it matter whether they are taking a bath or shower with the opposite sex or the same sex?

Your question brings back memories of a hilarious exchange with a Japanese work associate.

Calling his home one evening after work, his wife answered and said that Hal was giving Trevor, his very young son, a bath. Later at work, I chided Hal, and told him: "Hey Hal, you have to stop bathing with Trevor, he's 20 years old"! He, of course, saw my black humor and laughed his butt off.

I do not even recall, so I had to be very young. I know my mom would be present for bath time for safety reasons up until a certain age. I would really have to ask her what age that was. I don't even know.

as well… they are independent at those age to bath/shower on their own.

My family was very open with nudity. I probably stopped taking baths with my sister around the time we started to develop. We were 18 months apart, so the bathing alone started at the same time.
